Prescribing IV Fluids

This session involves the prescribing IV fluids, with a particular focus on: resuscitation, maintenance and replacement. This is a task you will be asked to perform regularly as a junior doctor, and it is important to know how to measure fluid balance as well as daily fluid and electrolyte requirements. FY1s can sometimes be reserved with giving IV fluids, and it is essential to know when you should and should not be aggressive with prescribing IV fluids.
