About Us
Helping you transition into FY1.
10 Minute Medicine is a teaching society designed to help final year medical students transition into the role of the FY1 doctor. Founded by a group of FY1 doctors, their motivations came from a mutual understanding of the difficulties final year students face, and the lack of resources currently available to help this cohort better grasp the day-to-day expectations of an FY1.
Who Are We?
We aim to teach our topics in a "straight to the point" fashion by keeping the unnecessary details to a minimum. We understand the memory retention in conventional one-hour lectures can be poor, which is why we aim to teach all of our topics in ten minutes or less, really focussing on the essentials you need to know. We also recognise that despite five to six years of medical school there are still topics you may feel underprepared for. With each lesson, we provide a succinct single page cheat-sheet of the key take home facts from the tutorial.

Our committee consists of a group of junior doctors with varying backgrounds each with a pivotal interest in medical education. We hand picked our curriculum based upon topics we felt were not covered as in-depth at medical school, with a focus on day-to-day scenarios and skills.
